Pfft… 24 articles in a month, that’s a lot, eh? It definitely requires some serious planning and a lot of time writing, but this blog wouldn’t be called Almost Famous Writer if it wasn’t rooted in a deep love for writing. And besides snacks, I always find music to be the best motivational help when writing.

Especially for this month, I’ve listed my favorite music to listen to during December. Besides the classic Michael Bublés and Mariah Careys, there’s a lot more Christmas-y music out there. My list is a slightly more alternative Christmas playlist, with artists such as Andy Burrows, Tom Odell and She & Him. I’m playing this music all the time when it’s colder outside and we’re getting closer and closer to Christmas.

// Smith & Burrows – Funny Looking Angels

Why not start with my favorite album to listen to in December? From the great album cover (seriously, whoever came up with putting Tom Smith and Andy Burrows in angel wings on a bench in the middle of nowhere is a true genius) to the great music, this album is a definite Christmas winner.

// She & Him – Christmas Party

Zooey Deschanel, covers of the most classic of Christmas songs and a bordeaux-colored baret – what else do you need this December? If you’re in the mood for some more traditional Christmas tunes with a strong vintage feel, this She & Him Christmas Cd is your man (and woman).

// Florence + The Machine // MTV Unplugged

An album that’s not specifically meant for Christmas, but very suitable to this time of the year, is the MTV Unplugged edition of Florence + The Machine. My love for the MTV Unplugged series is real (with editions from Nirvana, Placebo and Biffy Clyro), but especially Florence’s edition with the harps, violins and her beautiful voice is wonderful to listen to during the most wonderful time of the year.

// Andy Burrows – Fall Together Again

One of my personal favorite albums to listen to right the second Summer’s over, is Andy Burrows’ Fall Together Again. It sounds pretty, it’s super relaxing and he’s already wearing a Christmas red jumper on the cover – this album was always meant to be merry.

// She & Him – A Very She & Him Christmas

Once more, I think if you’re looking for the ultimate Christmas music (besides ye olde Michael Bublé and Mariah Carey), look no further than She & Him.

// Tom Odell – Long Way Down

The final album I love to listen during this time of the year, is Tom Odell’s debut album Long Way Down. His sound is beautifully romantic, and ranges from intimate love songs to epic and dramatic operas – Tom’s your man this Christmas.

// Kerst Anders Spotify Playlist

I’m so glad I found this Spotify playlist, because it doesn’t only spread that Christmas joy, it also makes me discover some new artists and tracks. Plus, it’s a lot of fun to listen to artists you already know and love, playing Christmas music. Pair it with some Christmas-themed snacks and you’re all ready to go this December.
