It’s the weekend! And an extra long Easter-weekend for me at that. The weather is going to be absolutely BEAUTIFUL and, dare I say it, quite summery. So I’m going to spend my four free days in our garden, in the sun, with Ziggy bouncing through the assorted greens like an Easter bunny and with a great soundtrack.
Every Friday I browse through the New Music Friday NL and Release Radar playlists on Spotify and I select five brand new tracks to share on my Instagram. So I think for the first time every (maybe?) I’m also sharing these five new tracks over here. So put on your headphones and preferably something glittery, and let’s celebrate the weekend!
Beyoncé – Formation (Homecoming Live)
A year after Beyoncé headlined Coachella as the first black woman ever, she surprise-dropped a Netflix documentary and a live album. I’ve been listening to the album, including this version of Formation, for two days straight and Homecoming is definitely a must-see on Netflix.
Beck – Saw Lighting
Every time I see Beck popping up on the release radar playlists, I simply have to check it out. His latest effort, Saw Lightning every bit as catchy as we’ve come to expect from Beck.
Editors – Hallelujah (So Low) – The Blanck Mass Recording
For the past couple of weeks, Editors have been sharing singles from their latest album ‘Violence’ – or better said, what could have been singles from their album. These new reinterpretations were made by Blanck Mass, with which they collaborated for the album. Hallelujah (So Low) and Barricades have now been re-released and – dare I say it – I may like them even better?
Blossoms – I’ve Seen The Future
The perfect soundtrack for a long weekend chilling in the sun.
Catfish and the Bottlemen – Conversation
And the final track to celebrate this long and sunny weekend is the new single from Catfish and the Bottlemen, who are releasing their new studio album later this month.
