Summer has officially come and gone. There I was, on a cold, rainy day listening to my greatest hits cd of The Cure and scanning in my film photos of the past few months. The grey weather outside couldn’t be more different from the warm and sunny weather in the pictures, but all the more fun to look back on. Today I’m jumping feet first back into the rabbit hole, with my film photos from Down The Rabbit Hole 2019.
After a decade (!) of going to music festivals, one has finally named an area after me. And what a treat it was: the best iced coffee on the grounds, very close proximity to delicious (and generously topped) nachos and right smack in the middle between two stages. It was perfection.
On the first night Editors headlined the main stage and they brought in the big guns: all the classics, Tom Smith’s weird dancing and fireworks. Foals were so much fun and had amazing energy. De Staat was brilliant, and we nearly drowned in the rain during Balthazar‘s set but it was worth it. Khruangbin was the perfect Sunday morning soundtrack, while Neneh Cherry turned out to be an unexpected favourite with performances of Seven seconds and Woman. But if I had to pick one ultimate favourite, it would be RY X. Jade and I stood in front of the stage and it was just magical.
So those were my film pictures from Down The Rabbit Hole 2019. I developed two rolls of film from this Summer, so keep your eyes peeled for more film photo posts very soon.
